Uganda Extra

Kaksiviikkoinen visiitti Ugandassa antoi rutkasti syitä hymyyn. Aika meni aivan liian nopeasti, kuten arvata saattoi. Paljon kuitenkin myös kerittiin, molemmat tällä kertaa pitkälti omilla reiteillä. Mari asusti Nansanassa, Noora Kirekassa molemmat 12km Kampalasta eri suuntiin.
Uuteen koulurakennukseen muutto on enää viikkojen päässä.

Mari ja Noora hymyilee. Samaa hymyä toivomme kaikille teille.
Peace out!

We wanted to add a bonus update to our Blog. About a year ago we were leaving to Uganda for the first time, not knowing at all what to expect. We decided to take steps there on the other side of the path, and not oh-so-safe and secure one. Life can change when you dare to be bold.

It was slushy november in Finland, three months after our return from UG. Noora asked Mari "We need to go back to UG, will you come with?" So once again in February we were breathing equatorial air, and liked it so much. Everyone who's been following our path knows how huge impact Uganda made in our hearts, and the need to get back there needs no explanation. Uganda is no longer a place where you can travel, it is our second home.

Two week's visit to Uganda, gave plenty of reasons to smile. The time flew far too quickly, as you might have guessed. However, we managed to do a lot of thing, both this time on their own routes. Mari lived in Nansana, Noora in Kireka both 12 km from Kampala in different directions. But we also shared a lot of time together.
We visited Blue Sky, and the guesthouse. Received hugs, and news about whats going on. Students at the school were all smiles, and it was great to hear, that the magnet project continues strongly. Moving to the new school building is no longer than weeks away. It feels great, that we really got something done.
Guest House was no longer what it was to us. What makes a home is people. Our "family" was gone except Sesi (our house keeper) was still there. The House is no longer giving the same feeling we had while living there. But when we were there we started to miss the people whom we had the house for six months (greetings and hugs, to all around the world). Still it was nice to chat with new volunteers, and to see what kind of community they've created.

Of course, the best moments happened with most important people to us, and the time we spent with them. How good it feels to hug someone who you haven't seen in a long time. And lets not forget all that energy from the sun! And fruits were sweeter than ever before. This time around, no accidents or sticky situations. Only good ones, like the one huge one with engagement rings. <3

Mari and Noora smiles. We hope you do the same thing.
Peace out!
