Apuasi tarvitaan - Help needed!

TAUSTAA

Nove Blue Sky on erityistarpeisille nuorille suunnattu koulu/ asuntola. Perusoppiaineiden lisäksi koululla opetellaan lukuisia arjen taitoja kuten keittiötoimintoja, itsestä huolehtimista ja kodinhoitoa. Huolenaihe vanhemmilla ja koulun opettajalla Godwinilla on ollut minne nuoret menee koulun jälkeen, mistä lähti idea perustaa toinen Blue Sky. Uusi Blue Sky on tuettu asumismuoto koulunsa käyneille erityisnuorille, jonne he voivat opintojen jälkeen muuttaa asumaan itsenäisemmin. Uuden paikan on tarkoitus myös työllistää nuoria, jotta he tienaavat myös omaa rahaa. 

Tällä hetkellä taloa on rakennettu avustuksien turvin jo katonrajaan asti, seuraavaksi rahaa tarvitaan ikkunoihin ja raappaukseen. Me halusimme auttaa uuden rakennuksen rahoituksen saamista, joten ryhdyimme tuumasta toimeen nuorten kanssa. 

JÄÄKAAPPIMAGNEETIT

Halusimme tehdä nuorten kanssa jotakin, missä he voivat oppia, iloita, tehdä yhdessä ja nauttia luomisen ilosta. Kierrätys on meille myös tärkeää, joten halusimme käyttää kierrätysmateriaaleja. Ideariihien jälkeen päädyimme tekemään nuorten kanssa käytetyistä pullonkorkeista jääkaappimagneetteja (magneetit tulevat vanhoista jääkapeista). 

Aivan aluksi opetimme nuorille värioppia, ryhmätyöskentelyä ja ennen kaikkea luomisen ja kokeilun iloa. Kun oppilaat olivat hioneet ja vasaroineet korkit suoriksi, alkoi maalaaminen. Oppilailla oli käytössä viisi väriä. Perusvärit sininen, keltainen ja punainen, lisäksi musta ja valkoinen. Perusvärejä sekoittamalla oppilaat saivat aikaiseksi upeita värejä ja väriyhdistelmiä. Jokainen magneetti on yksilöllinen tuotos joka on käynyt monen oppilaan käsissä. Magneetit matkaavat maailmalle käsintaitelluissa kuorissa jotka on kasattu vanhoista sanomalehdistä ja sinetöity koulun leimalla. Meille oli tärkeintä että jokainen oppilas pääsi osallistumaan tähän projektiin oman taitotasonsa mukaisesti ja koki onnistumisen kokemuksia. Ja pakko sanoa että magneetit on UPEITA!

KUINKA VOIT SAADA OMASI

Magneetteja voi saada kahdella tapaa: 

1) Kerää muutama henkilö ja päätätte yhdessä määrän kuinka monta magneettia haluatte, sekä summan jonka samalla lahjoitatte koululle. Pistämme valitsemallenne henkilölle koko satsin ja kyseinen yhteyshenkilö laittaa yhdessä lahjoittamanne summan Marin tai Nooran tilille (me annamme sen sitten täällä käteisenä koululle).

2) Tilaat haluamasi määrän magneetteja ja keräät magneeteilla lahjoitukset koululle, minkä jälkeen raha meidän tilille. 

Koska lähettäminen maksaa jonkin verran, toivomme isompia tilauksia (5 tai enemmän). Pieninkin penni täällä on erittäin arvokas ja sillä saadaan paljon aikaa, joten älkää stressatko rahasummalla -jokainen kykynsä mukaan.

BACKGROUND

Nove Blue Sky is boarding school for special need young. At school students learn basic subjects but also activities of daily living like cooking, personal hygiene and cleaning the house. Both the parents and the teacher Godwin at school has been worrying about the kids future after school. Then came the idea of new Blue Sky. The new Blue Sky is place for students after their studies. They can live there more independent and also do some work to get some money. At the moment the house has been build till the roof by donations. Now the need for money is for windows and plaster. We wanted to take part in with the new building and this is the reason we started our magnet project. 

FRIDGE MAGNETS

We wanted to do something with the students where they can learn how to work together, and enjoy creating from scratch. Recycling is important to us too so we wanted to use recycled materials. After brain storming we decided to create fridge magnets from used bottle caps (magnet itself comes from old fridges). 

At first we taught basic color theory, team work, and most importantly the joy of creating. After sanding, and hammering caps straight the students began to paint. They had five colors. Primary colors, blue, yellow and red with addition of black and white. Mixing the primary colors student got amazing colors and color combinations. Every magnet is unique product, more than one student put his/hers print on it. Magnet's will travel in hand folded envelopes, which were made using old news papers, and sealed with the school stamp. We thought it was important that every student could participate in this by using their own skill level, and felt the joy of succeed. And have to say they look AMAZING!

HOW TO GET YOUR

There is two ways to get them.

1) Collect few people and decide together how many you want, and the amount you're going to donate to the school. We will send a package to this person you chose, and this contact person will put the whole donation into Mari's or Noora's bank account (we will withdraw the money and give it straight to the school).

2) You order as many as you want, collect the donation and put the money into our accounts.

Sending the package costs a bit, so we're hoping bigger orders (5 or more). Remember that even smallest amount is worth a lot here, so don't stress with the amount -everybody with their own ability.
